    Which documents does esome need to consider my application to be complete?

    For your application at esome you don't need to write a cover letter. Instead, answer our two motivational questions, which you should answer yourself in advance. We also look forward to receiving your CV and all your work and training references (including graduation certificate). By stating your desired start date and salary expectations, we know right at the beginning whether the general conditions fit.

    Is it possible to work for esome while studying?

    You are also very welcome to join our team as a working student or intern. We are regularly looking for student support for the individual departments. Fair remuneration is guaranteed. For us, it is important that you are ready to spend some time with us. Working students should want to stay with us for at least six months. We only offer internships for less than six months if you are thinking about staying with us permanently afterwards.

    I am interested in a dual study programme. Does esome support that?

    We will be happy to check individually whether esome is a suitable partner for your studies. An important prerequisite for this is that your studies do not follow the block model, but that you work constantly multiple days a week. This is the only way we can train you holistically, bring you closer to the daily business and even assign you your own clients.

    Do I have to apply more than once if I am interested in several positions?

    No, a single application is perfectly fine. This is because we don’t only check all incoming applications for a match with the desired position, but also compare them with all other job profiles. However, a note that you are interested in more than one position can speed up the process.

    I have sent my application - when will you get back to me?

    You will receive a confirmation on the same day. That way you know for sure that your documents have reached us. Afterwards we will take the time to review your application documents in detail and discuss them with the respective department. We will get back to you within the next ten days.

    What exactly happens to my data?

    We use your documents to match them with the profile of the position you are applying for. At the same time, we also check possible matches with similar positions at esome. The access to your data is limited to our People & Culture Team and involved colleagues from the respective department. If we are unable to offer you a job, your data will be completely deleted after a maximum of six months.

    If you have any questions about data processing, want to update your data or prematurely delete it, feel free to contact our People & Culture Team at [email protected]. You can count on a response within the next 72 hours. Alternatively, you can delete your data yourself at any time using our applicant management tool.

    My application raised interest - what happens next?

    Now it gets exciting: We will get back to you by phone to arrange a first interview. If you were able to convince us in the first interview and also got a positive picture of esome yourself, then we will meet again for a second interview soon after.

    I have received an invitation to the talent pool - what can I expect?

    If we cannot offer you, as a promising and motivated candidate, a suitable position at the time of your application, we invite you to join our talent pool. There we are able to keep an eye on applications over the long term and react immediately as soon as we have found a suitable position. In this case, we proactively pick up the phone to inform you about the new opportunity to join us.

    How do I prepare the best for my interview?

    Be yourself! We want to get to know you on a personal level and have a conversation at eye level to find out if you fit into our esome team. In return you have the chance to see whether esome appeals to your ideas of an employer or not. It is important to us to understand what has motivated your development so far, why you think you would be a good fit for esome and what your expectations of the job and the working environment are.

    How are job interviews currently conducted?

    In order to keep you, us, and the rest of our colleagues as safe as possible during the pandemic, we avoid meeting in person as far as possible. For this reason, interviews are being conducted digitally. For you, this means that you don't have to worry about travelling or shaking hands. Instead, we will send you a dial-in link (including a passcode) by email in advance, which you only have to open just before the interview starts.

    Do I need technical equipment for the interview?

    All you need is a computer or smartphone with internet access and a camera. In addition, a headset can improve the sound quality and reduce distracting background noise. Our People & Culture Team will inform you about all other particularities before the start of your interview.

    My first interview is coming up and I ask myself: What should I wear?

    It is important to us that everyone feels comfortable at esome. That's why we don't have a dress code. The same applies to job interviews. In case we meet with clients or business partners, however, we stick to "business/smart casual”.

    What is the best way to get to your office?

    Since we currently conduct most of our interviews digitally, there is no need to travel to our office. Should circumstances change, you have many different options to reach our office in the heart of Hamburg:

    • If you travel by public transport, you can choose between the stations Jungfernstieg, Gänsemarkt, Stadthausbrücke and Stephansplatz. From all stations, the office is just a few minutes' walk away.
    • You are also welcome to come by car. If possible, we will reserve one of our spaces in the underground car park for you.

    • Or you can safely park your bike in front of the office or in our underground car park at one of the numerous bike racks.

    What exactly happens during the first interview?

    The first interview lasts up to one and a half hours and is conducted with a person from the People & Culture Team and/or from the respective department. The main point here is that we get to know each other and align expectations.

    What do I deal with in the second interview?

    The second interview should give you a more concrete insight into the company and the advertised position. Therefore, you will be able to learn about the day-to-day business through a practical task and meet colleagues from the respective team. Since the process varies a little depending on the position, you will be given detailed information about what to expect when scheduling your appointment.

    How is the onboarding conducted in times of Corona?

    Depending on the incidence number, we decide individually whether onboarding in the office - compliant with appropriate hygienic measures - is safely possible or whether we start remotely. Your personal preference will of course be considered. Both ways work out well and have been tried and tested several times. Apart from that, you will go through our onboarding concept in the first few weeks. This includes training in the team, assisted clicking and learning by doing, as well as many interesting workshops with colleagues from other departments. To help you get settled socially, we make sure to create enough opportunities for coffee dates and getting to know other colleagues.

    How do you currently work at esome?

    Most esomies currently work from the mobile office. The pandemic taught us that all employees give their best - whether from the office, from home or from any other location. At the same time, we know that life circumstances change, and flexible working conditions help to adapt to the new. That is why we want to continue to make our workplace as flexible as possible in the future. Under certain limits, it is therefore up to each colleague to decide about working time and place, as long as neither their own work nor that of the team is negatively affected. However, being a people company, it is important to us that the individual teams get together on a regular basis.

    How do you ensure a social integration when starting in the mobile office?

    Community has always been part of our identity and should remain so in the future. That's why we put a lot of effort into supporting you in getting settled socially and keeping the team connected. We stay in touch through things like our buddy programme, random coffee dates, digital quiz nights and company-wide challenges. The next (offline) Friday Beer or team event will be coming soon, and we already know how to host great summer and Christmas parties digitally if necessary.

    How can I progress at esome?

    Our career paths are not fixed; development at esome is individual. You determine the pace and direction of your development according to your individual motives and in close cooperation with your team lead. To support you in taking your next steps, we have created various formats. One of them is the esome Academy. In this format, different colleagues prepare training sessions once a week for everyone interested. Among other things, technical capabilities and soft skills as well as industry knowledge and professional skills are taught and trained.
