#OMR19 – We did not hate it at all!

Colourful - loud - bold - and heaps of input and innovations! This year's Online Marketing Rockstars Festival has excelled itself once again: Over 52.000 visitors, more than 400 exhibitors and top speakers came to the 90.000 sqm area on the exhibition grounds in Hamburg.

Besides dazzling personalities, such as Lena Gerke, Joko Winterscheidt, artists like Ellie Goulding or Marteria & Casper and masterminds like Yuval Noah Harari or Andy Puddicombe, the fair for digital nerds and marketing enthusiasts impressed with a large variety of booths, which attracted visitors with interactive offers and flashy buzzwords. Whether it was a ball pool, a journey through the 90s, surfing on virtual waves or relaxing on a big swing - every exhibitor made his booth being something very special and brought the digital world close to touch with a lot of love for detail.

Our two-storey esome booth in the middle of the premium hall B5 was a small oasis in the colourful and loud swarm of the OMR this year. Numerous plants, cosy wood panelling and comfortable lounge furniture invited to linger with delicious smoothies and encouraged conversation in great appointments as well as relaxed conversations between digital experts.

Matching our new positioning, the OMR gave us the perfect opportunity to show our new look: Our green marquee with the inscription "Your Media Outcome Manager" was already clearly visible from distance. Since the digital world is getting more complex and faster every day, it is highly important to focus on results and make them tangible as well as to create and maintain clarity. This was not only our mission at the fair, but is also our approach to achieve the advertising goals of our customers. Therefore we presented our Media Solutions True Reach, Local Booster, Brand Viewability & Co. in a way that is easy to understand.

Along with our philosophy our CSO Manuel König explained together with Michael Schöning, CSO of TheADEX, in our Masterclass on Tuesday afternoon how to harmonize all channels in a fragmented advertising world in order to achieve the best possible results for individual marketing goals.

Besides our new logo, a touch screen and a candy bar attracted the curiosity of many marketing people. Potential applicants could learn about job vacancies and the working environment at esome on the touch screen; (potential) customers used a survey to find out which of our media solutions is best suited for achieving their marketing goals. However, it was not only the information that led visitors to our touch screen: In a self-programmed photo game, visitors were able to show how impressive their facial expressions are. Facial acrobats, who were best at matching the emotions, were rewarded with a souvenir photo and delicious sweets from the candy bar - of course only in esome colours.

#OMR19 - I hate it? We don't! All in all, we can look back on two exciting and intensive days. Given the colourful and lively atmosphere of the fair, we enjoyed interesting conversations between marketing experts, meetings with well-known colleagues from the industry and getting to know new digital enthusiasts. We will be back next year - and already look forward to what the marketing rockstars and all those, who are on their way to become one, will come up with next time. Until then: Let's rock!
